Deep in the ocean, there is an island, where no one lives anymore. There are some old, now unused buildings here and there, mostly damaged by war and tooth of time. Most of them have some military background, so the whole island was probably some testing facility of some kind. You have been washed up from the ocean to a beach, without anything but a strong will to survive. Upon looking around you could see that you are not alone. There are also other people, all naked like you. And some of these people are now taking a rock from the ground and running towards you. Their intentions are clear. Will you fight or try to run away?

As a kid, I embarked on my basketball journey with a local team, the sole representative in a vast area.  Whether it was due to the sport’s lower popularity or a scarcity of kids, our training sessions were considered successful if we managed to assemble ten players.  Fast forward about fivteen years, and I found myself back at the same team, this time with my own child. From the times of early SimCity or Transport Tycoon games, I liked to build my towns, road, or railroad networks, satisfy my citizens in all their needs and make a profit from all of these. In Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic you will try to build the whole republic for your inhabitants. Or maybe inmates. It all depends on how you will take the grasp of the leadership. You could try to fulfill all needs of your people but it will cost you so much. The most important in this game is to have your factories running. And for your factories, you need happy citizens. You are hungry and thirsty, without a clue where you are and why you are there. From the nearby dune, you could hear some strange clicking noises, and the footsteps in the sand remind you that this could be the home of some giant insect-like animals, probably as hungry as you are. You start to follow that caravan, slowly heading to the sunset, with a little hope that this is not your last day. This could be one of the possible starts in the  Kenshi .
